The idea
Bounce & Barrel is being built around a simple idea: getting everyone together shouldn’t mean choosing just one thing to do. Come for the food, stay for the competition, let the kids play, grab a drink and make a day or night of it. There is something here for everyone.
It is being planned to work all day, not just after dark — a coffee and a quiet table on a weekday morning, somewhere for families to land in the afternoon, and a full social destination at night.
The plan brings dining, active play, private celebrations, and easy social connection under one coastal-inspired roof — a place neighbors, families, teammates, and visitors can make their regular.
What we are planning

Active, social games designed for friendly rivalry — the kind of play that works just as well for first-timers as for the group that keeps score.
A coastal-American kitchen and bar program at the center of the venue, planned for shareable plates, cold pours, and a zero-proof list that stands on its own.
Flexible space for birthdays, team celebrations, corporate gatherings, and fundraisers — with a team that helps you plan the whole thing.
Big screens, big rooms, and a big-game atmosphere — planned as a place to watch the game with a crowd that actually cares about it.

Mornings & afternoons
Bounce & Barrel is being designed to be worth the trip at 9am, not just at 9pm. Coastal Current Coffee Co. is planned for the upstairs level as a proper coffee and lounge space — espresso, pastries, comfortable seating, and room to actually sit and talk.
It is being laid out directly above The Cove Kids Club, with railing and lounge seating that look down over the play area. The idea is simple: bring the little ones somewhere they are genuinely excited about, and get a real coffee and a comfortable chair while you stay right there with them.
The same upstairs room is being designed to convert into a private event space in the evening. Meet Driftwood Hall

A coastal-themed guided play space for younger children, designed so the grown-ups stay part of it. Parents and caregivers remain with their children throughout — The Cove is guided play, not drop-off child care.

Our home
St. Johns County has grown quickly, and the places to gather have not quite kept up. Bounce & Barrel is being developed for this community specifically — a local gathering place designed around how people here actually spend their time.
We are working through site selection and development now. Location and opening information will be announced here first.

Meet the founders
Bounce & Barrel is being built by Scott and Courtney Patrick — a husband-and-wife team who have spent two decades opening, designing, and running large-format retail together. They are building this one the same way: side by side.
Co-Founder
Scott has spent 25 years building and scaling retail businesses — starting from the ground up in service and skilled trades before rising into sales and operations leadership across some of the country’s top furniture retailers.
Scott’s path started far from the boardroom — working service jobs and construction trades before finding his way into home-improvement sales. From there, he climbed through retail leadership roles with several of the country’s largest Ashley Furniture licensees, including opening a brand-new market from scratch and later running store operations across an entire multi-state region.
But his proudest title is Dad — father of five, and he calls it the best job he’s ever had. That same drive shows up in his community work, where he is ecstatic about bringing “Barrels of Love” to St. Johns County to make a real, positive impact on families close to home.
Co-Founder
Courtney has spent her career turning empty rooms into places people want to be — building nearly two decades of experience across hospitality, retail merchandising, and store design leadership, grounded in an Associate of Arts in Interior Design from Henry Ford College.
Courtney’s path started behind a bar in Dearborn, MI, where she learned hospitality and customer experience the hard way. From there, she built an award-winning career in visual merchandising and store design, rising through leadership roles at some of the country’s largest furniture retailers — shaping how new stores looked and felt from the ground up, leading major store openings and remodels, and setting the visual standard across entire multi-state footprints.
But for Courtney, family comes first. She’s just as intentional at home as she is at work, teaching her kids that hard work, integrity, and kindness matter most in a world that can be harsh. That same heart now shapes her biggest passion project yet — bringing her love for designing beautiful, functional spaces into a place everyone can gather, connect, and simply enjoy being together.
Together, Scott and Courtney bring the combination of sales expertise, operating discipline, and design intuition that defines the guest experience.
Bounce & Barrel is a family project in the most literal sense. Scott and Courtney are raising their family in Northeast Florida, and they are building the kind of place they want to take them to any day of the week.
